There are many ways that you can get involved in the MCC, way to contribute that would be a good fit with your interests and skills. For the 2018-19 school year, the following positions will be open.

President (voting member)
Organize and facilitate monthly & other MCC meetings; serve as the primary contact for the principal; direct the development of the MCC action plan; coordinate the work of all the directors and committees so that the purpose of the organization is served, and represent MCC at functions.
Additionally: Work with Treasurer to manage the Teacher Allowance funds and other expenses.
Works with Treasurer to prepare proposed annual Budget and present to Board for approval at June meeting.
Work with Communications Chair to publicize events, meetings, needs throughout the community via email, newsletter, Facebook, and other social media. Help to fulfill tasks of vacant positions. Attend quarterly parent leader meetings at the Olympia School District.
Vice-President (voting member)
Support President at monthly meetings and throughout school year. Substitute as President in the event that the President cannot fulfill duties. Help to fulfill tasks of vacant positions.
Principal, Assistant Principal (shares 1 vote)
Liaise between Marshall faculty, administration, OSD, ASB and the MCC. Keep MCC informed on events, news and needs of the school. Meet with President & Vice-president as necessary.
Secretary (voting member)
Keep all records of the organization; take and record minutes; handle correspondence; and keep a copy of the minutes, bylaws, rules, and membership list. Maintain the MCC website.
Additionally: Work with Marshall webmaster to post upcoming events on Marshall Home page, and to update the Marshall MCC page.
Treasurer (voting member)
Receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the board. Present a financial statement at every meeting and make a full report at the end of the year, file and maintain articles of incorporation, file tax returns, maintain all tax records, and maintain insurance policy.
Prepare annual budget proposal with President, and present to the Board for approval in June.

Communications (voting member)
Work with President & other Board members to compose and distribute publicity messages via email, newsletter (email), social media, and website. Help to produce and distribute MCC newsletters.
Volunteer Coordinator (voting member)
Recruit volunteers for various school events throughout the school year, using various means of communication with the support of the Communications Coordinator. Help to recruit volunteers for vacant MCC board and committee positions.
Fundraising Coordinator (voting member)
Lead the MCC Board in researching, organizing and executing fundraising opportunities. Participate on the 5K Dash Committee.
5K Committee Chair (voting member)
Coordinate and oversee the various efforts behind the 5K Dash: finding sponsors and donors, marketing and advertising for registrants, event planning for day-of-race, bookkeep and administer to all correspondences and business details, update and maintain 5K web pages.
Theater Lead Producer (voting member)
Student Store Manager (voting member)
(Can be same volunteer as the Student Store Manager.) Stock inventory, set up merchandise, and manage sales at Activity Night (Fall, at Marshall M.S., an event by the Olympia Parks & Rec) and at the (Spring) Marshall Theater Musical (at Capital H.S.), and any other events where MCC is asked to provide Concessions. Work with Store Manager to optimize potential for resale of leftover products in Store. Submit all receipts and expense/sales records to Treasurer. Manage volunteers.
Spiritgear Coordinator (voting member)
Track and keep inventory of all spiritwear and Marshall Mustang products. Seek best pricing from vendors and order new stock as necessary. For Orientation Day in early September, prepare stock, sell and take orders, fulfill orders for customized products, keep accounting of these orders and of payments. Process orders throughout the school year.
Take orders for yearbooks at Orientation Day in early September and throughout the school year. Vet and choose yearbook vendor. Organize yearbook committee and conduct work meetings. Work with school photographers to acquire all class, team, group/club, events, and candid photos throughout the year. Design and produce the yearbook and mentor student yearbook committee members.
Bulletin Board Designer
Design and produce bulletin board (at the reception area of the school, and other locations as needed), with coordination with Principal and MCC President for upcoming events.
There are 4 general events during which the Food Wrangler will acquire food and coordinate meals, with the help of volunteers: Fall Conference Week staff support lunches, National Teacher Appreciation Week (Spring) lunches, Pennies for Pies Thanksgiving, and 8th Grade Promotion Breakfast. For each event:
Box Top Coordinator
Collect and count box tops periodically and post to the Box Tops organization.
