Board Positions Needed for 2023-2024
MCC Open Board Member Positions for 2023/2024 School Year
Treasurer (voting member)
Receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the board. Present a financial statement at every meeting and make a full report at the end of the year, file and maintain articles of incorporation, file tax returns, maintain all tax records, and maintain insurance policy. Prepare annual budget proposal with President, and present to the Board for approval in June. Presents financial status at monthly meeting.
Volunteer Coordinator (voting member)
Recruit volunteers for various school events throughout the school year, using various means of communication with the support of the Communications Coordinator. Help to recruit volunteers for vacant MCC board and committee positions.
Fundraising Coordinator (voting member)
Duties: Lead the MCC Board in researching, organizing and executing fundraising opportunities.
Participate on the 5K Dash Committee.
Communication Coordinator (voting member)
Duties: Work with President & other Board members to compose and distribute publicity
messages via email, newsletter (email), social media, and website. Help to produce and
distribute MCC newsletters.
Theater Lead Producer (voting member)
Duties: Liaise between Theater Director (Jason Haws), theater committee/faculty, and MCC
Board. Recruit various theater committee members (e.g., costumes, sets) and oversee their
function. Coordinate composition and printing of publicity materials (posters, flyers) and programs
(along with cast/crew profiles). Work with Director, Treasurer and MCC Board to manage the Theater budget
5K Committee Chair (voting member)
Duties: Coordinate and oversee the various efforts behind the 5K Dash: finding sponsors and
donors, marketing and advertising for registrants, event planning for day-of-race, bookkeep and
administer to all correspondences and business details, update and maintain 5K web pages.
Three At-large Board Members (voting members)
Duties: Attend monthly MCC Board meetings; contribute to discussion and voting discussions;
vote (if designated as voting member). Contribute to newsletters. Help with events throughout year with planning &am organization, hands-on work, recruiting of volunteers. Provide institutional knowledge to MCC Board discussions. Help in the various tasks of Orientation Day in early September.

President (voting member), Allison Weide Organize and facilitate monthly & other MCC meetings; serve as the primary contact for the principal; direct the development of the MCC action plan; coordinate the work of all the directors and committees so that the purpose of the organization is served, and represent MCC at functions. Additionally: Work with Treasurer to manage the Teacher Allowance funds and other expenses. Works with Treasurer to prepare proposed annual Budget and present to Board for approval at June meeting. Work with Communications Chair to publicize events, meetings, needs throughout the community via email, newsletter, Facebook, and other social media. Help to fulfill tasks of vacant positions. Attend quarterly parent leader meetings at the Olympia School District. Vice-President (voting member), Sharri Brascher Duties: Support President at monthly meetings and throughout school year. Substitute as President in the event that the President cannot fulfill duties. Help to fulfill tasks of vacant positions. Principal, Assistant Principal (shares 1 vote) Michelle Weber Liaise between Marshall faculty, administration, OSD, ASB and the MCC. Keep MCC informed on events, news and needs of the school. Meet with President & Vice-president as necessary. Secretary (voting member) Andi Rhodes Springer Duties: Keep all records of the organization; take and record minutes; handle correspondence; and keep a copy of the minutes, bylaws, rules, and membership list. Maintain the MCC website. Additionally: Work with Marshall webmaster to post upcoming events on Marshall Home page, and to update the Marshall MCC page. Treasurer (voting member) OPEN (duties listed above) Food Wrangler, Andi Rhodes Springer Duties: There are 3 general events during which the Food Wrangler will acquire food and coordinate meals, with the help of volunteers: Fall Conference Week staff support lunches, National Teacher Appreciation Week (Spring) lunches, Thanksgiving Turkey Baskets, and 8th Grade Promotion Breakfast.
